Summary: Although it is true that the lens interferes with the flash, its wide aperture provides it with great light collecting capability, so even when its dim i can improve my pictures'quality without using the flash. It is great for long exposure times on a tripod as it captures very clear images with little aberation and you'll be surprised at how wide it makes your field of view. I am very happy with this lens and would recommend it hands down.
Summary: THIS IS A GREAT LENS CRISTAL CLEAR PHOTOS, IM GLAD I GOT THIS ONE INSTEAD OF A CHEAPER BRAND WITH SONY YOU KNOW FOR SURE YOU GET QUALITY. JUST LIKE OTHER REVIEW YOU CAN NOT USE THE CAMERA FLASH BECAUSE THE LENS IS SO WIDE, WILL HAVE TO USE ADITIONAL FLASH, BUT PICTURE ARE NICE AND CLEAR.
Sony quality...but with one fundamental design flaw

Summary: I purchased this lens when I got my Sony DSC-H50. My camera already has a fairly wide lens (which I love), but I wanted an even wider angle for certain shots and this fits the bill. I like buying OEM and, having purchased many Sony add-on lenses for my digital cameras over the years, I enjoy that theirs don't have the level of distortion that some other brands have. You get a pretty clean wide angle shot.
Summary: I have the Sony DSC-H9 and trust me It surely does add more width to your photo when taking pictures in a tight spot or when you need to get more out of your photo. The only I problem I had with it is when you want to zoom in the focus gets blurred, as well as the "auto burst" function is disabled when using the lense.
Summary: The lens are good quality, but it is much heavier than the camera it self! It is also very bulky and blocks the flash. When it is installed you cannot lay the camera on the table and the small tripod that I have is not stable. The installation of the lens takes time. You first need to install the adaptor (which in my case is connected to the hood), then the lens and then change the settings. Therefore you cannot switch easily between wide angle and normal mode.
