A must for using strobe light outdoor an

 • Excerpt: I use this for all my outdoor and indoor lighting requirments. I do have i-ttl nikon equipment but for multi lights indoor and out. I preferr to have complete control of my photo and this meter is prefect. I bought the spot attachment which is a must for complete control of all ligthing conditions. Most of my work is with portraits but I also do pets and group shots. This gives me maximiun flexibility with total control. I love it.

indispensable feature

 • Excerpt: having this option for spot metering is a must especially as a final check before you shoot to make sure you didn't miss anything and to scan your whole scene for any problems. Can be a bit cumbersome to put on and take off especially while holding everything in your hands. Kind of wish this was just built in to the meter in the first place, but apparently to do so cost another $ bucks...

 • Excerpt: All in all this is a good product.I was surprised by its smaller size and weight compared to other meters and it does not feel like it could take much a beating. The touch screen takes some getting used to, it is not like other screens your used to. It should be called a Press-Screen because you have to apply a little bit of pressure to it for the buttons to react. It has so many useful tools and I'm sure if your a photographer its probably even better.
 • Pros: Compact
 • Cons: Flimsy Construction

Great Light meter!

 • Excerpt: This is a great light meter with a lot of features! I love the included software that allows you to calibrate your meter to your camera with the Color Checker Passport! Very quick when taking flash readings in the studio, and the ambient features are nice too. A lot of very helpful videos on youtube and on the Sekonic website. This meter is worth the money!

Great Meter but...

 • Excerpt: The meter is good and has nice touch screen. It should come with Calibration card. Asking [$] to build profiles on your meter to match your Camera/lens combos is ridiculous.

Works Better then I thought

 • Excerpt: The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I wish it came with some kind of case that lets you carry everything together. I feel like I might loose this or drop it in the dirt on a shoot. Other then that I actually really like it. It works perfectly. Just like the high end spot meters. And its super easy to switch back and forth between the two.
 • Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Works perfectly
 • Cons: Needs a case

Nice, digital light meter

 • Excerpt: This is a very good product. It's relatively easy to use, and appears to be completely accurate. Something to note if you are considering the purchase: all of the shots of the screen that I saw before the purchase (on the product page) were "simulated." Meaning, the actual clean, cool look that you see in the product shots are NOT the same as in real life.

Pretty

Human Eye, Adorama

 • Excerpt: Out of the box the meter seemed to be accurate. Calibration is easy but is a fickle process. I had to Google info to figure out the error messages. The manual or website was not very helpfule.

The touch screen isn't that great. I have to press several time to get it to respond.

Battery life is not long.

Not a bad product. I would rate 3 out of 5.
 • Pros: Reliable
 • Cons: Difficult To Use, Poor Design
