We All Need A Lens Hood

  • Excerpt: Wish it had a Bayonet Mount so that it easily would reverse itself on the lens and easily mount on the Lens!

Pricey, but necessary

  • Excerpt: Very well made, attractive metal hood with an old-school knob to attach. However, it is expensive, should have been included with the high-end 75mm lens, and there are much cheaper knock-offs available.

Perfect Match

  • Excerpt: I don't always use a lens hood, but when I do, I use the original equipment. This lens hood is made as well as the Olympus 75mm f/1.8 it was designed for. The hood is metal and solid, and comes with a center pinch lens cap that can be used when the hood is attached.

Expensive, which is why only 4/5 stars, but pleased with my purchase.

  • Summary: The LH-61F looks like it was made for the 75mm F1.8 and it was. The hood is perfectly color-matched to the 75mm lens. That may also be true of some cheaper Chinese lookalike hoods, which are also made of metal, but despite knowledge of those I nevertheless decided to buy this official LH-61F hood.

Great Hood for the lens

Rich the Traveler, B&H Photo
12 March 2015
  • Excerpt: I know a lot of reviewers were unhappy when they learned that the 75mm f1.8 Olympus lens did not come with a lens hood. However, the supplied lens hood which came with my 12-40 f2.8 Pro Olympus lens is nothing compared to this lens hood. This hood is all metal and has a better attachment system.

Great hood but overpriced

T, B&H Photo
17 January 2015
  • Excerpt: There is nothing wrong with this hood other than that it is overpriced for what it is, and it should have come with the lens itself. One shouldn't have to pay for a lens hood when buying a $[$]lens.

A bit pricey but quality follows

  • Excerpt: I know that everyone is saying that Olympus 75mm lens should have this hood included, but there you go, its not. But buying this hood really pays off.

Perfect Fit

20 October 2014
  • Excerpt: This is an extremely well made lens hood that matches the 75mm high quality perfectly. Once attached it's hard to tell where the lens stops and the hood begins. I've found that you can leave the hood on and an Olympus 67mm lens cap will fit the front of the hood which is great when you don't have...

Very Nice, but Expensive

Geoff, B&H Photo
5 July 2014
  • Excerpt: Like the 17mm lens hood, this is made very well. It does add a little bit of length to the lens, but its not overwhelming. Again, I did not give it 5 stars because of the price.
