Summary: I own the 14-150 mm lens with my E-PL1 (yes....I need to update my camera body) and the lens hood is as easy as changing a lens to the body of the camera. I have a UV filter on my lens also. I can get my lens cap on there....not easily but not difficult either. I have yet to shoot some photos with the hood. I just got it for Christmas.
Excerpt: For some reason, Olympus does not provide lens hoods with their lenses. However, don't let that deter you from getting them for all your lenses. This is well made and does the job as needed. Just this week, I knocked over my tripod with a different camera/lens combo and the lens hood broke, but protected the lens and camera from other damage!
