Central-pinch useful in combo with a hood

rChaz, B&H Photo
27 April 2015
  • Excerpt: I purchased the lovely Vello metal hood for the Olympus m4/3 75mm f1.8 lens. The original Oly cap is not pinch-style and isn't easy to attach/remove when the hood is in place. I believe that the expensive optional OEM hood may include a pinch-style replacement cap for use with the hood.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Strong Construction

Essential with a Lens Hood

Bone Daddy, B&H Photo
15 April 2015
  • Excerpt: Yes, it's got the classic "replacement cap" look, but just TRY using the original lens cap on the M.Zuiko 75-300mm II with the lens hood deployed. Ain't happenin'. The center-pinch is a MUST, and this holds onto the filter threads well enough not to worry, so ... there ya go. It officially "works."
  • Pros: Compact, Easy to Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Easy To Lose, No Tether Holes

Works as expected

SilverVee, B&H Photo
15 September 2014
  • Excerpt: Protects lens/filter as expected, solid, easier to install/remove than cap included with the lens (ED 40-150 R) especially if you have bigger fingers and a/or lens hood is installed.

13 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I lost my lens cap hiking at Walden Pond. I could not find the original replacement here at B&H but ordered this one based on size. It fits - I guess that's all a lens cap can do.
  • Pros: Durable, It fits, Reliable
  • Cons: Not original

Much better lens cap than typical MFT

MistahVega, B&H Photo
18 February 2014
  • Excerpt: Better made than the standard MFT lens cap. The center pitch design works better with lens hood in place. I wish Olympus had some smaller sizes, like 46mm and 52mm.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Perfect with a lens hood

zensu, B&H Photo
6 December 2013
  • Excerpt: I love the center pinch lens caps because I can leave the lens hood on and reach inside to remove the lens cap without removing the hood. Olympus makes top quality equipment.
  • Pros: Convenient, Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Better cap for the m4/3 75mm

blue fox, B&H Photo
19 March 2013
  • Excerpt: I got this lens cap to replace the one that came with the Olympus m4/3 75 mm f/1.8 lens because it uses center squeeze locks rather than edge squeeze. It works just fine with the lens hood I put on my lens while the original didn't work with the hood at all.
