HEAVY....but excellent

Ken, Amazon
5 July 2013
  • Summary: This is a MUST have lens. There are no substitudes on the market, you will notice there is one mistake/flaw in the manufacturing of this lens...NO THREADS for filters. The weight of this lens is heavy, however, you should get use to it soon. The cap will get loose after continual use, therefore, make sure you add a retaining cord of some type. I have in the past left this WC-E80 semi-permanently attached.

My First Converter Lens

Ken, Amazon
5 April 2013
  • Summary: This is my first purchase of a Converter Lens of any make in my 65 years of photography. In fact, I don't have in my inventory a Mirror type lens. However, this lens surprise me with it's internal construction and the excellent photo results. The only items in question I have are; NO threads for mounting filters and in turn the use of a plastic lens cap. After some use, especially in warm weather the lens doesn't want to stay on and becomes a nuisance.

Ab-so-loot-lee Gotta Have It Accessory

FotoMeister "FotoMeister", Amazon
4 December 2004
  • Summary: I'm an advanced amateur photographer, with over 40 years of 35mm experience. A Coolpix 5700 entered my life last Christmas. After about 6 months experience with the base camera, there was no hesitation in ordering the wide angle converter. The only shortcoming of the base camera was its lack of w/a capability. The telephoto capability of the camera should be sufficient for most users, those requiring the outer limits of telephoto may want to consider the tele converter.

Great for Panaramics the Nikon WC E80

simez77, Ciao
10 September 2005
  • Excerpt: "I use the Nikon WC E80 with my Nikon Coolpix 8800, I have this lense attached to my camera most of the time as I do a lot of wide angle shots & Panaramics. I have found the Nikon WC E80 a god send as it helps create some realy good landscape panaramics with nice depth & definition, also instead of taking 4 to 7 shots, you can create a good panaramic in 2 to 5 shots with a larger depth of feel & also less pictures means less pictures to merge together ...
  • Pros: Larger Panaramic Shots & Good definition, lovely lens flare
  • Cons: Heavy, Atachment thread to fine for weight of lens, Cannot attach a Polarizing Filter
