Excerpt: Accessory diffusor for Nikon SB-R200. It helps soften the light a bit and takes the edge off of shadows. Especially handy for closer shots. Note that it does reduce the reach of the flash, but that should be ok given its main use for close work. This really should be an included item with the SB-R200, but note that it is not.
Excerpt: I use these doing macro flash work, often of dragonflies in wetlands. They do a good job of giving an evan lighting. The down side is that they are easy to lose when traipsing through rougher habitats like cattails.
Excerpt: The product is part of the R1 macro lighting system from Nikon. It works very well but using it in the field one has to be very careful not to knock off the SW11 & the SZ1 filter holder which has to be in place to attach the SW11 diffuser. In the field hit a branch even lightly and off come the parts and in thick scrub often they are lost. It's a great product if only those attachable parts were more stable.
Summary: Unbelievable price. In order to get this diffusion facility for my SB-R200 macro setup, it costs [$] for 2 of these, only to discover that they don't fit on the flashes without the SZ-1 filter holder. So 2 of those cost another £15.98. Total cost over 50 quid for 4 cheap pieces of plastic which must cost pennies to manufacture.
