  • Excerpt: True story, I fell on a pier in Alaska, the camera hit the ground. The lens hood reviewed here was only slightly bent, the filter and lens were fine. What a save!
  • Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Rugged, Strong Construction

beautiful addition to my new (old) lens

19 August 2010
  • Excerpt: I recently received my 85mm 1.4 lens from an online supplier in Japan - it is spotless and needed an equally quality product to protect it and the captured images. My only disappoinment was that as with any screw-on, the normal center-pinch lens cap does not fit. Nevertheless, the hood is easily removed and installed in and out of the bag.
  • Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Lens cap does not fit

Hood does the Job

20 May 2008
  • Excerpt: Had a difficult time finding a lens hood for 24-120mm Nikon VR lens, but this one fits the bill. Eliminates lens flare and is very durable metal (not plastic). However, lens caps does not fit when hood is on camera, so must be removed for protection and storage.
  • Pros: Durable, Improves Function
  • Cons: Doesn't Fit Lens Cap
