Watch out you don't lose it in the ocean

Red Meadows, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: The hood does what it's meant to do - to protect the lens from the elements while shooting, and to reduce the amount of glare under bright sun. The 600mm lens came with the lens hood. HOWEVER, for the price you pay for this lens, they give you a flimsy design for securing the hood to the lens with these knobs that come loose on their own. You need to tighten them frequently. Otherwise you risk losing the hood like I did, down the cliff into the Atlantic Ocean!
  • Pros: Protect from the elements, Reduce glare
  • Cons: Attachment not secure, Knobs prone to loosening
