  • Excerpt: Locks on the way it should, so it won't fall off. Much better than the loose cheap imitation I had previously tried.

Perfect Fit

  • Excerpt: I purchased this lens hood to replace one that was lost a sea in Hawaii. I was very pleased that it was the exact OE replacement for my 17-55 Nikkor, and at a better price than Nikon. It fits, it works and it came from B&H quickly.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Mostly good, but...

EricC, B&H Photo
29 October 2012
  • Excerpt: Overall, this lens hood is very functional as a lens hood, protects the lens nicely, and reversing it for stowage is convenient. HOWEVER it doesn't lock on the lens very securely and has a tendency, especially when in the reversed storage position, to work loose and fall off. I had to purchase a replacement precisely because this happened and I didn't notice it until it was long gone.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Falls off

Great Hood

Steph, B&H Photo
19 September 2012
  • Excerpt: I had this lens hood on my 17-55 mm lens for almost 6 years. I use this lens all the time for work, but while overseas on my honeymoon I walked down some slick steps with camera in hand, slipped and fell and figured my lens (and maybe camera) was probably gone. The lens hood cracked and my camera and lens amazingly still worked. So, not only is this good for reducing flare, but it did protect the lens in this particular instance. I have now purchased a new one.

Durable Lens Hood.

Bill, B&H Photo
16 August 2012
  • Excerpt: This is a great product for your Nikon 17-55 f/2.8 lens. It's a very durable plastic lens hood and offers great protection on both top and bottom as well as the sides. It has a locking mechanism so it won't twist off your lens. I bought this one as a replacement should my original hood break.
