Excerpt: Well designed hood. Slips on lens easily matching the white dot on the lens with the dot on the hood and stays in position with a twist and click. It blocks out near light reflections so that designated scene lighting is enhanced.
Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable, Wonderful Lens Protection
Excerpt: I am a wedding and portrait photographer. This is the 3rd replacement hood for this lens. I use it quite a bit, its light, but certainly not durable. The tabs that hold the HB-25 on the lens wore out on the last two. I have hoods from other lens that I've never had to replace.
Excerpt: It fits perfectly, forward and backward. I've tried the thhird party stuff and it just isn't worth the few bucks you save. And overall, the Nikon hoods are pretty durable too. I've misplaced more than I've broken.
Excerpt: Camera mounted on a tripod, and my big feet decided to kick it. Proud to say, IT SAVED MY LENS, that time by giving it's life. Point is ... It's worth having protection your expensive Nikon lens. And I will be getting a replacement.
Excerpt: I purchased this lens hood to use on my 18-200 VR because its lens hood broke about 10 minutes after I first used it. OK, a bit of an exaggeration. Although it's not a perfect solution, the HB-25 works very well, and it's much sturdier than the original.
