Summary: I didn't think I'd find this product useful, but I have. Aside from its intended function to reduce stray light across the lens surface, this hood is wide enough that I can adjust my polarizing filter without removing the lens hood, remove and replace my lens cover, and because of the bayonet mount protect my expensive filters from edge damage. No downside for the price that I can find.
Summary: I use this on my Nikon D70. This is the second one because I cracked the first one. Thank God I had it on b/c it could have been my lens instead. It is great for both protection and sunflare. I really missed it when I didn't have it. Using my hand to shield the sun just didn't work the same.
Summary: I am using this hood on a 35-70 f/2.8 zoom. The zoom will flare without a hood and this hood is necessary if you want to use the lens with a full frame film or FX digital camera. Other hoods will cause problems. This hood is well made and stores in reverse on the lens when not in use.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Lens Protection, Improves Function, Lightweight
Summary: Solved some lens flare problems I was having with the Nikor 35-70mm AF 2.8 and well it's small enough that I just leave it on all the time for cutting out glare and adds extra protection. You can reverse mount it for storage as well.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Improves Function, Lightweight
