Keep out that stray light...

Gadget, WEX
21 March 2014
  • Summary: A simple to use folding design. I don't have it folded-out all the time, but it's great for when you have stray light (or rain) falling on your viewfinder area. The only con is that it does protrude a little (especially if used with a magnifying eyepiece) and can therefore catch on your bag / case when putting the camera away. A minor gripe though.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use
  • Cons: Sticks Out A Little

So simple it should be fitted already!

3D Guru, WEX
6 February 2012
  • Summary: Such a simple bit of kit, slightly fiddly to fit, but when on you'll wonder why it wasn't on there as standard. C'mon Nikon it wouldn't cost much to include it as standard on the prospec bodies!! Makes it easier to use the camera viewfinder in many ways and stopped my eyes watering when out shooting in the recent wintery conditions.

Ideal Purchase

Paul, WEX
22 February 2011
  • Summary: Ideal product to use if you wear glasses or; like me, suffer with watery eyes in windy weather. This product can be used by eye glass wearers or those who don't. I found using it enabled me to take photographs in windy conditions without my eyes watering therby preventing me getting the shot.

Great Addition

acphoto, WEX
30 April 2010
  • Summary: Bought two of these for my D700 and D3 as the wind (dont laugh!) blowing between the eyepiece and my eye was causing my viewing eye to water on windy assignments....But thankfully Nikon thought about this problem and produced the DK-19....Hooray!Other than that if you don't suffer with my problem its also great if you wear glasses so I've been told (I don't) and stops some of that nasty breath moisture from going all over the back of your camera.Seems to fit more securly...

  • Cons: just a tad fiddly to fit

Indispensable

Dragan R., DIGIT-PHOTO
16 September 2012
  • Summary: Monté sur Nikon D800 , il sied parfaitement aux porteurs de lunettes, qui comme moi cherchaient un accessoire de visée en lieu et place de l'œilleton originel. Me voila servi.
