Summary: This is a good product for mounting your camera light in the camera shoe. I like the idea you can move your light it different directions while mounted on your camera. Also, you can move in to a complete resting possition on top of your camera. The only thing I don't like about it, is on my DSR-PD 170 camera where you screw it down, it will work itself loose and can fall off the camera. So I have to tape it down for security purposes.
Summary: I use it to hold Fire Store FSC-60 DTE Drive. It works, but the thumb wheel is way too small. It is hard to get it tight, or loosen. With [$] bucks worth of Fire Store Drive setting in the shoe it should be easy to lock down! Should have a thumb wheel like the Canon Video Light VL-10Li II, that one is easy. The 1st one I received would not hold the drive (no lock off 360 pan) it would keep spinning. I returned it and the 2nd one did the same thing after a day or so.
Pros: Large Range of Motion, Looks Nice
Cons: Hard To Lock Down In Shoe, Small Thumb Wheel, Weak Clamp
Summary: I purchased this to mount a Focus (Firestore) Hard Drive on the hot shoe of a Canon XH-A1. Works great! I also use a hot shoe extender to mount a wireless mic receiver along side the Focus HD.
