Summary: Don't buy this yet. GoPro has not released the software for your mobile devices. SO the product is not functional. Go to their website to confirm that this has not changed since this post. But it's been several months since they launched this product and no software.
Does not work out of the box, update is a pain ....

Summary: Updated Review: Received my replacement today. The update went through flawlessly. The initial order was defected. Nonetheless, I'm still giving this a 3 STARS (updated from 1 STAR) not the fact that I don't like the item, in fact I love it. The reason for the 3 STARS and NOT Five is the fact that the device does not work out-of-the-box. You need to spend time updating the firmware before you can actually use it.
Summary: I am not into extreme sports so when I first bought the GoPro 2 I was a little lost what to do with it. Its images are crisp and clear and big. It takes a little time to get used to the menu sequence compared to a camera with a view finder and even its huge menu. But as soon as I bought the backpack remote everything changed. Now I keep my camera on a monopod and with the remote can take pictures normally with a steady base.
Summary: I've bought the Hero2 months ago and I'm astonished by the toughness of this product. I do snowboarding, windsurfing, MTB, down-hill and I've lost the count of how many times I crashed in the ground, having more scratchs on the helmet than the cam itself. It's really a good product! As many people here, I've bought this "bacpac" to replace the LCD, happy of the remote bonus that sounds very useful when I wear the cam on my helmets. The verdict is that I'm disappointed.
Summary: Everyone who is popping off about this not being "ready" truly crack me up. It does exactly what the GP website says it will do, and they promise pad compatible aps in the near future. So why all the whining? I love people who say they would rather wait for a product to be "fully realized" before release. No computer ever devised would have ever been delivered under those requirements, or smart phone, or any electronic device, ever...
Summary: A lot of people are upset that all the features are not there yet. Mostly the smart phone apps. BUT you can still do a lot. Control up to 50 cameras at once!!! The remote as the same screen that the camera has, it shows up to the sec what is happening with the camera. I mounted a GoPro on top of my helmet and was able to control the camera with out needing to take everything off. AWESOME!! Some people where upset that you had to update the firmware before it would work.
The Remote works fine, but the App is Pie in the Sky!

Summary: The GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac + Remote Combo Kit works fine, both with my HD Hero and HD Hero 2. However, I bought the GoPro HD Hero 2 and the Wi-Fi BacPac + Remote Combo Kit, fully expecting the availability of the promised App that facilitates all the promised features, including live streaming. GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac + Wi-Fi Remote Combo Kit So far that has not materialized, and there is no firm date when it will.
Summary: I wanted this thing to work so bad, figured I was smarter than everyone else but they are right the wifi backpack sucks. It was difficult to update to my knowledge still doesn't work with an iphone and worst of all you have to take it out of the waterproof case to turn it on. We took it on our first ride and it died before I even got to a section of trail worth recording.
Summary: Length:: 0:55 Mins This controller is extremely beneficial and convenient. I use my GoPro for Autocross and have the camera on my roof so its extremely useful having the ability to control my GoPro from within the car. You can power on and off, change mode, change resolution, etc. It basically gives you full control of the camera without needing the camera.
