Summary: I bought this reader for my husband. He been using it for about 2 months. He LOVES it. He can down load his picture and view them when he is out in field. Tons of memory. The only thing it is a little slower down loading RAW files. He does not shot in JPEG, but it should be faster. AWESOME product.
Summary: I also lost a month of shooting with one of these things. They seem to be very buggy and when they malfunction the entire disk is erased. When it works it's great, but when it fails, well I can't really think of anything worse when it comes to taking photos.
Summary: I love my new P-7000. It has slots for both SD and CF cards and is very easy to use in the field to back up cards. I still bring along a laptop and multiple hard drives, but use the P-7000 as one of my backup drives and also as my failsafe plan in case my laptop dies or is stolen in the field. The P-7000 is really a great product. Previously I owned an earlier generation version of this product and it worked great too.
Summary: I download and review the pictures in the field. If I see a problem I can reshoot on the spot. Great for RAW. Only negative, does not play Quicktime MOV. I have a 5DMII so this was a disappontment.
Summary: I'm a pro photographer and bought the Photo Viewer for a 3 week combined holiday and photography trip abroad. It's quick and easy to backup your photos from CF or SD cards and the graphics quality for reviewing them is pin-sharp so you can already start editing before you even get back to your computer.
Summary: This is supposed to be a safe place to store your photos. Instead it crashes and your photos are lost forever. I spent 1 month shooting in Costa Rica, and presold photos to clients via preview. But then the P-70000 would not start up, instead giving an 'invalid file structure' error. Epson's technical support was completely useless, and offered only to fix the device, offering no options for data recovery. While it worked (about 6 hours) the Epson7000 was great.
Summary: I have Epson P-2000 when it came out. This was a great photo viewer/storager. People compliant its so slowly than others which only download photos w/o LCD screen. Since I upgraded my camera from 20D to 40D two years ago, I need a hugh space photo storager to backup my wedding photo during the event. P-7000 is my choice, no question ask!! the LCD screen is bigger than P-2000. The download time is faster and longer battary life.
Summary: The Epson P 7000 unlike it's predecessor's is a download fast viewing and storage machine. Viewing properties are clear and the ability to blow up sections of the frame give you complete control over your shots. I highly recommend it.
