Excerpt: Use to carry lens when using it in the field. The older version had two rivets on each side for strap attachment. Fits lens well and easy access with double zipper. Suggest you look at other fine cases that B&H carries for padding and strap security.
Excerpt: I don't know, why Canon insists on this design.. Other brands had already developed theirs.. For example my Nikon 70-200 VR II's case is much more protective to dust and dirth.. One positive side of this case is it's more versalite in comparison to others..
Excerpt: I got two of these for all of my lenses. It fits my 200mm f2.8L perfectly with the lens shade attached. It also fits my 85mm f1.2L also with lens shade attached. It also works with 24-105 f4.0, and 16-35 f2.8. I bought L3 neck straps to use with the two cases, the originals are quite narrow.
Pros: Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Lightweight, Strong Construction, Well Padded
Excerpt: Gosh, Canon's still selling it? This came with my new 100-400 in '07: fine for general transport, but an imminent field disaster. As you can see, leave that side-zipper part-open at the top for quick access...
Excerpt: Appears to be made well. Mine came with my canon ef 70-200mm f2.8 L IS lens. The lens is very close to the top of the case. It fits, but you have to "stretch" the top of the case to make it work.
