Summary: I bought this battery about a year and a half ago. It worked fine for the first year then started to not hold a charge as long as it did when it was new. I didn't think to much about it since I use my camera a lot and swap between 3 different batteries.
Summary: It appears to me that the two LP - E8 that was shipped to me were "knock offs". Both does not fit properly in the Canon recharger. While it came with the correct markings on the battery packs, both could be knock offs. When inserted into the camera, it does fit.
Summary: Although it sounds like some buyers have received genuine canon batteries, I'll join the ranks of those who DID NOT. I use the T2i for video and so have two other 'real' canon batteries. This was was off-color, had blurry text (as another reviewer said) and didn't fit in the charger OR the camera.
Summary: I ordered this item and it was shipped from Commercial Solutions Consulting. It is NOT a Canon brand battery as pictured. I assumed that this issue was probably old and had been taken care of, but it has not. Buyer beware!

Summary: The Battery never works, I've tried in 3 differents battery chargers and the battery had never recognized I have sent back to the manufacture 2 months ago and I still waiting answer or refund I don't recommend this product
Summary: It works , but for short time. It does not hold the charges as long as the battery came with the camera. It says on it Made is Japan, but because writing is kind of faded..I am not sure if the information written on it is true?.
