Excerpt: I am a professional real estate photographer and use mainly my 10-22mm lens. I have tried (to save money) using other brands hoods from cheap to Vallo, etc, but after spending... too much for number of different hoods, I concluded that Canon EW-83E is the ONLY one I will ever buy. It works perfectly, it stays on, it does not move too much to one side... so you get the the hood showing on your photos.
Excerpt: This is an excellent lens hood that I use on the Canon 10-22mm. I thought about buying a 3rd party lens hood because they are about $ cheaper, but decided to go with the Canon because I own another Canon lens hood and I'm very happy with the quality. One main difference between the Canon lens hood and the 3rd party lens hood is that the Canon one has a black felt like material on the inside of the lens hood adjacent to the lens itself.
Excerpt: I wish I had bought this one right from the beginning. Having had good experience with Vello hood before, I got a Vello hood for my EF-S 10-22mm as well without asking questions. However, I felt that I would have broken my lens if I kept using it. The Canon one is better built, and goes on and off very smoothly.
