Excerpt: Had originally purchased a no name lens hood for my Canon EF-S 18-200MM because they were out of stock of the Canon hood and I needed the hood for a trip. The other hood always had a slight wiggle, and easily worked its way off. The Canon EW-78D is easily attached and fits snug.
Excerpt: Canon Original Equipement Manufacturer "OEM" parts just work together. I've never been disapointed with "OEM" parts. I would always recomend using canon lens hoods with canon lenses because then you won't have any part of your photo cut off. Spend the extra money and you should always be a happier camper.
Excerpt: I bought this lens hood to give the front glass on my Canon 18-200mm lens a bit more protection. It does this job very well. It seems to be durable, and I plan to keep it on this lens as long as I own it.
Excerpt: - very solid construction - fits perfectly and tightly even when in storage i.e. flipped around - I had bought a 3rd party one and its 2 clips kept getting loose so I had to push them in each time. Eventually I lost one clip and decided to spend the money to buy thisCanon product - the felt lining inside the hood helps cut down reflection too - very happy with this product
