Great Little Accessory

Jim, B&H Photo
3 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I recently picked up the canon 28mm f1.8 lens. I found that the hood would be perfect addition to already great lens. It attaches well and is very secure, does its job as designed and I am very happy with my purchase.

Improves function and look of lens

Jungle Media, B&H Photo
22 July 2014
  • Excerpt: When I originally purchased my EF lenses, they were for still photography. Now, I also use them for my Canon C100 when shooting professional video. The lens hood helps control corner light and also adds some important visual substance to the look of the lens on the C100.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight

Why not?

  • Excerpt: Does what it's supposed to. Had cheap hoods before. Get Canon's version, you'll waste money on any cheap one.

It's okay

likeafoxow, B&H Photo
21 June 2013
  • Excerpt: It's a lens hood. It does what you would expect. However, it doesn't snap on my Canon 28mm 1.8 as nicely as for example the hood that came with my 70-200mm. This hood fits all right, but at times it's a squeeze and doesn't rotate as smoothly going on or coming off. The velvet is a nice touch.
  • Pros: Lightweight, Protective
  • Cons: Difficult To Use, Poor Design

Excellent product!

PhotoBug, B&H Photo
12 January 2013
  • Excerpt: I use this lens hood to minimize lens flare and to protect my camera lens. I only wish it also came with an instruction sheet as to how to most easily attach it correctly. Great price and great service, as always, from B&H made this purchase a no-brainer.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Always buy with the lens

Rick, B&H Photo
15 December 2012
  • Excerpt: I always use a lens hood. Lens specific hoods are best. This one is just like other Canon lens hoods. Fair construction, good at its purpose of blocking stray light. Get them and use them!
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Hmm. Two years later it no longer locks

I don't remember my nickname, B&H Photo
3 April 2012
  • Excerpt: It was ok til it stopped clicking and locking into place. It just freewheels now which sometimes causes opposite corner vignetting. I haven't seen this happen before. It was my best fitting hood but it should last.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Not Durable
