Summary: Pretty good sound however the biggest thing is that YOU MUST BE CAREFUL. Not only does it have a low battery life (I am talking about EXTREMELY low) it's pretty fragile. If you buy the kit with it the tripod stand circular table can crack if you tighten the video recorder too tight. The recording device hole (where the tripod screw goes into) can break therefore the device and tripod won't work together and you're going to have to use something else to elevate it.
Excerpt: The audio, set to the highest quality, is stunningly good. The video is not. I suspect that the best use for this recorder would be either purely as an audio recorder or to record audio to dub into a higher-quality video recording with weak audio capability. I already have a good Zoom audio recorder and really wanted something for video (with good audio). I get better video on my iPhone, so I returned this recorder and will have to dub or find another solution.
Summary: Excellent audio ... but very poor image compared to similar products like Samsung 300 (under $100). Which the image, LCD screen, so on could come to par with other consumer grade camcorder. No image stablization. It has this great feature to change the sensitive zone of the microphone - except you have to use a bunch of clicks through the interface to activate. In real field setting, you just want to do it instantly.
Summary: If all you have is $100.00 dollars this unit is worth the money. If you owned a smart phone in my opinion your phone could do a better job than this unit specially Nowdays when there already some smart phone recording video in 4K resolution. The only advantage you may have with this unit is the sound which is better than any smart phone.
Summary: Truthfully, when I bought this, I was hoping it would have a feature more conducive to making videos of myself, to be used on crowdfunding websites like Kickstarter. It needs a monitor that will enable one to see one's self when the camera is aimed in one's direction. It didn't cost me a huge amount of money, but the bottom line is that I still do not have the video I wanted to make. I think I should probably have bought a Sony Bloggie instead.
Summary: Good machine, got for a good price. This thing eats batteries, so it's disappointing that you have to order a mains adaptor separately, and then order a mini-USB-to-USB cable for that to work...
Not bad, but not the greatest camcorder for confined spaces

Summary: Most of the other reviews here have covered the main drawbacks of this unit - short battery life, respectable but middling video quality, etc. None of that stopped me from buying this. I have had two Zoom handheld audio recorders for years and they've been great despite a couple quirks.
Summary: it.I purchased it so I could demo my band to club owners.it doesn't seem to want to work too well with Windows 8 or my photoshop elements video.maybe it's just me not sure yet. However if you just wanna watch it off the little tiny screen it seems to work good.otherwise it seems to be a good little recorder and video.also if you have large fingers the navigation button is extremely difficult to operate takes some getting used to.
Summary: After purchasing and receiving the recommended 32GB SDHC card, I was able to use it to download and install the upgraded version of the operating system for the Q2HD (Ver. 1.2). Why is the latest version not included? Then everything seemed to be working when I began actually recording. However, the batteries went fast. Then I tried to play back the recorded video on my HD TV through the HDMI port. I got a fine picture but no audio.
