I have used it to record myself and have never really been happy with the result

Summary: I have mixed emotions about this device. I have used it to record myself and have never really been happy with the result. Yet, others I have talked to swear by it. One of the drawbacks for me is that I can not separate the video from the audio; massage the audio and then pair them back up; at least...
Great device for recording auditions and concerts, and uploading video to YouTube
Wild Thornberry, Amazon
30 March 2015
Summary: This is a great little recording device, good for uploading video of a budding musician (auditions and concerts) to YouTube. It arrived in all the proper packaging but did not seem 100% brand new since the serial number was rubbed a bit and there were one or two tiny nicks on the device as well as a...

Summary: Not just for musicians. Good for certain kinds of legal documentation/investigation situations where you need to pick up great audio and video is also desirable but it doesn't have to be theater-quality (although I must say the video performance in low light is very decent).
Summary: I bought this video recorder to post my accordion music on YouTube. The video resolution is not great, but the sound quality is terrific. If you import the video to a good editor, you can split out the audio and adjust for noise and can normalize it.
Q3 is great for music and theatre but not sports, AND why not get the new Q2 which has better video?
S. Brooks "Story Guy", Amazon
28 November 2013
Summary: I have had my Q3 for years, but why buy one now when the Q2 is out with better quality video? I have to say that the video quality of the Q3 is fair to middling! If you want to watch your kids play sports on your large tv screen this is NOT for you.
Summary: The audio quality is great. Video quality just ok. The lo gain mic setting handles very high spl - almost any concert level. The hi setting is much more sensitive. I often wish for a medium setting. Battery life is a little disappointing, probably because the display never turns off.
Summary: In a "nutshell" the Q3HD is a High End stereo recorder with video capability. I play in a "weekend warrior" cover band and the Q3HD is perfect for capturing our "live sound". All the instruments are clearly heard and the sound is vastly superior to anything short of a professional ($3,000 +) video...
Great sound, decent video, horrible battery life and features.
2 April 2013
Summary: The video quality isn't that good and the battery life is horrible, but the sound quality is very good and that's what I bought it for, so I guess it's okay. Good product. Firmware/UI is behind the times in my opinion.
Summary: A lot of bang for the buck. I recommend getting the accessory kit. Its necessary. Does exactly what it says it will do. I put all the settings on high and record one song at a time then download to something else....downloaded the processing program to old pc and it works well too.
