Summary: While the sound is great the picture is not. The picture is just average and nothing special. Also, it really is a bit awkward to use due to it's shape. Turns out that it is more novelty than functional.
Summary: The audio quality is great. Video quality just ok. The lo gain mic setting handles very high spl - almost any concert level. The hi setting is much more sensitive. I often wish for a medium setting. Battery life is a little disappointing, probably because the display never turns off. I think there should be a screen saver option when tripod recording and not needing to constantly see the screen. Still, 4 stars for having such great audio!
Summary: In a "nutshell" the Q3HD is a High End stereo recorder with video capability. I play in a "weekend warrior" cover band and the Q3HD is perfect for capturing our "live sound". All the instruments are clearly heard and the sound is vastly superior to anything short of a professional ($3,000 +) video camera. The video is good but nothing that I would call exceptional.
Summary: I had this camera for almost a year, it's very easy to use. However, the video quality is definitely not HD (even at 1080p), you have to work really hard to get the right lighting to get a good video quality. In general, the videos are very blurry. The audio is great but the high and low gain settings are totally extreme, you can't dial a middle position to suit your needs better.
Summary: I gave this product one star because I can't give it no stars...I could not have been more disappointed with this product. First and foremost...the zoom on the ZOOM is almost non-existent. Wrong name for this product. I purchased this product as a gift and I was SOOOOO EMBARRASSED when my wife opened the package. After seeing this product and working the menu system, it reminded me of a kid's toy.
