Too Bad

Pamela, Target
22 January 2013
  • Summary: I thought I was purchasing the other Vivitar which was in the [price] range and did not pay attention, it was late at night and I was in a rush. After I fully charging the item, I loaded my brand new Lexar 8GB card and took it for a run. I was in my bathroom which has ample light. I was so disappointed by the playback. It looked snowy at best. I fiddled with the settings and tried again, but to no avail.

  • Summary: I've had 1 megapixel cameras that produced higher quality photos. This is definitely not 5 megapixels.

  • Summary: images are barely visible and very dark unless in very bright light or sunlight. The particular camcorder I got also had issues with the mic...there was some sort of noise that overpowered what I was trying to record. I had hoped this to be a bit better, but I guess for $30 I definitely got what I paid for, which was quite disappointing. I will be purchasing a different one immediately!

  • Summary: As disappointing as everything about this camera is, I'll try to remain objective. The image quality looks horribly compressed and when shooting in HD the camera can only handle about 19 frames/second (typical for this type of device is 30). The result is grainy footage with entirely too much motion blur. I should note that changing settings in the menu didn't alleviate any of these issues. The device itself is all plastic and doesn't feel very substantial.

  • Summary: My husband got this camera for me for Christmas. I plan on taking it back tomorrow. I am pretty sure this camera has no flash. I can't find much information on it online either. There is a light which seems like it SHOULD be a flash that you can turn on and off, but it is basically a glorified pen light and just stays on and doesn't do squat as far as taking pictures. I have no need for a camera that can only take pics or video in daylight or outside.

Conflicting memory guidelines and instructions

Gilbert, Target
11 December 2011
  • Summary: .1. Target lists this online as a Vivitar 720P-Black, but the image shown on their site is a Vivitar DVR 880HD .2. I bought the 720P, 880HD at our Target store .3. The quick installation guide says it can take up to a 32GB SD Memory Card, but the guide I downloaded using the disc in the package says it will take only 16GB .4. The downloaded guide shows that DVR 880HD has an HDMI port, but the 880HD I bought has none .5.
