Summary: I do not reccomend anyone to buy this camera. It truely has poor picture quality and if you are not in direct sunlight when using the video recording, you won't be able to see anything. I have changed the settings (and I know what I'm doing) and that makes little to no affect. It does really well under water in the pool and that ths only reason I didn't give it a 1 star. I have already replaced the camera once (warranty) because the screen went out.
Summary: Great picture quality. The things to remember when using under water - make sure to close compartments properly or you get a water leak. Read the instructions. This does not come with an SD card That's why the price is so reasonable. We use the camera on land more than in the water. This camera is worth the price. Especially if you are gifting it to college or high school students. It would be a great holiday or birthday gift.
Great camera for outdoor activities that is cheap/not durable
5 August 2012
Summary: First of all, you should know that you will need to buy an SD card separately from the camera for it to be operational. But even with that cost, the camera still comes it at under $70 and I thought it was an exceptional value at that price. I purchased it for a white water rafting trip and it did everything I needed it to do. It was water resistant, durable enough (although I was a little careful with it) and the videos and pictures were great.
Summary: As reported by others, the battery door leaked as soon as it hit the water and the camera stopped working. I would not recommend this camera with the current battery door design. As a comparison, I also have a Liquid Image snorkel mask/camera that works great underwater. Their design keeps the battery compartment, which you open rarely, and the data access compartment, which you access often, separated and they use screw-on covers with indicators that show you're in the...
Summary: I like the idea of a smaller camcorder but performs very poorly with indoor lighting. Try to record my daughter playing drums in a well light room but the video played back terrible and the audio was even worst. I did record outside which came out decent but the video quality was grainy at best. At about $100 for a new camcorder -you might want to buy a used better quality camcorder.
Summary: Overall I am satifised with this video camera. It takes good video and pictures, but the sound of the video is slightly muffled. I also was able to give it a try underwater and it did great. The screen is light so it is difficult to see in bright sunlight. Overall rating would be 8.5 out of 10.
Summary: It does good as far as picture but volume Mic sucks and when you zoom in and out it it makes a clicking sound on your video . And the paint on the buttons rub off . All this after one weekend with it .
Summary: From the outside it looks like a great camera but upon recieving it I found the buttons very hard to work with, not user friendly at all and for a 8mb video/camera quality, even when set at it's highest super fine quality I couldn't take clear pictures of the coral in my reef tank from just inches away with or without flash. I was very thankful I had a great ebay seller who refunded my money and took the camera back but I'd never recommend it to anyone.
Summary: I had this camcorder for a float trip in Missouri. It works well in the water (barring bad audio initially once breaking the surface) For the price you end up getting a very good video and audio quality. The stills it takes are only passable in daylight, terrible indoors. As long as you are sure to seat the battery/SD card door properly it will maintain the seal, if you are in a rush (like I am sure many buyers are) you can end up with an unseated seal and get water...
