Pros: Great for the beach or pool. The camcorder is very easy to use and unless you have shaky hands, it will give a steady picture. Battery life is exactly what you would expect, try the new lithium-iron 1.5V rechargeable AAA's! Operates much longer!
Cons: A little hard to hang on to. Needs a sure-grip material on the housing body and battery cover. Don't use regular AAA batteries. They will die, in the middle of the fun.
Summary: Do not waste your money. I spent only $15 on this camera and it wasn't even worth that. Seriously, unless you plan to buy it as a gift for a kid (which I also do not recommend ... The kid friendly cameras are made better than this), don't buy it! It's trash.
Summary: The Vivitar Dvr 810 HD camcorder. Well I like it and I don't like it, but overall it is a good cheap camcorder with only a few problems for example it doesn't come with the SD card so you have to buy it separately. And you should be able to record up to 35 minutes but it stops around 20 seconds unless you format it over and over and that got me a little bit angry so I had to take it to the store and have them fix it.
Summary: Washed out video images. Rapid deterioration of image when lens is zoomed in AT ALL. Atrociously bad pickup on internal microphone with no ability to attach an external microphone. Short battery life. This was a serious outlay of cash for me. I won't make the mistake of wasting my money on another Vivitar product. UPDATE: I wrote Vivitar to ask if there is a way to hook up an external microphone. Their reply is, ". . .
Summary: Butch picked up most of what I found except the short battery life. I can only get 25 minutes out of a set of new alkline batteries. It uses the right amount of memory for HD, but the pin hole fixed focus lens is still not sharp enough to read the numbers on the soccer jerseys from even 50 feet away. Don't be fooled by the size of the lens cap. The lens is tiny.
