Summary: Understand that this will only last a short time. Great picture, ok sound, but the life span of this device is VERY short. It just stops working. This is the 3rd one I've owned and NO, it's not an issue with the battery or storage card. It's just got a short life span. Too bad too, because other than the fact that it's junk, it's a great idea/device.
Summary: This camera takes good video with pretty good sound. I use it on my small helicopter to take videos. It does well, even with all the vibration from the helicopter. The pictures are not HD, but the resolution is pretty good for the size of the camera. I have noticed that the video downloads to the computer at a pretty slow rate. I just start it and go do something else. Twice, I have crashed the helicopter hard enough that the camera flew out of the holder.
Summary: It lasted about four months before becoming useless. With each use, the recording time and battery life (or charge) got less and less, to the point it would only record about 15 minutes on an 8GB card. No, it wasn't user error or card glitch. The video and audio were very crisp and nice, though. Not sure why it did what it did, but I wouldn't buy another one.
Summary: Overall, I'm satisfied with it. The video quality I feel is pretty good for something this small. I like the fact that when it stops recording after 30minutes, it will automatically continue recording another clip. No need for you to press the button again. The HUGE advantage to this camcorder is its very small size. You can discreetly take videos without people even noticing. Also, it can be mounted in ways where a typical camcorder or digital camera can't.
Pros: 1. Very very compact digital camcorder. You can clip it on your shirt pocket, no one will know that you're taking a video. I would say this is the biggest Pro to this camcorder. 2. Pretty decent video quality recording at 640x480 res for a device that's just a little larger than a AA size battery. 3. Pretty decent low light capability for something so small. Better than some cell phones and even some digital cameras that I've seen. 4. Uses a removable Micro SD card. Y...
Cons: 1. The sound can be distorted when there is high levels of noise. It also sounds muffled with not much clarity. 2. The video quality is pretty good but, when the camcorder is in movement, the video tends to sway like it's in the water. Also, it looks like the contrast levels are a bit high where it's blown out when there is a bright background. 3. Low light levels are pretty decent for this tiny camcorder. However, under incandescent lighting, the video appears to loo...
Summary: First off, this is one of the best sport cameras available in terms of picture quality and shooting duration. Add to that it is small enough to be totally forgotten strapped on top of a bike helmet. It takes wide angel shots so all the action is captured and the one thing I wish it did better is sound recording. This is minor when good post editing software is used. typically, the two hours shooting duration provides more than enough distance to film any venue you want.
The Veho Muvi Micro DV Camcorder - Useful but not perfect.
3 February 2011
Excerpt: "In my opinion, the Veho Muvi does exactly as it says on the tin. If you are looking for a discreet low budget video capture device then i fully recommend this gadget. It is a no thrills product, however the quality you get from a recording certainly suits people who want to quickly capture those priceless moments. Equally the Muvi is useful for those extreme sports enthusiasts who want to share the experience from the comfort of their own home. I ...
Pros: Quick and easy to use, Comprehensive accessories kit as standard, large capacity for recording
Cons: Battery Life, No change of orientation when going from standing upright to horizontal positioning,
Excerpt: "...mounting kits. I brought the Veho Muvi with a poor quality mounting kit, which didn't bother me at first as I thought of it as most cameras don't even come with anything to mount them. I brought a handlebar mount separately that was made by Veho and very first ride on my bike it snapped off. I had to make my own mount for it which I am currently writing a guide up on how to make a mount for it out of things around the house and I will add the link ...
Pros: Robust, great picture quality .
Cons: Sometimes poor sound quality depending on wind, awful mounting kit .
