Summary: I'm a long time Little League coach and I bought the X100 to film my pitchers and hitters. It has a 720p at 60 frames per second that gives twice as many frames as a normal HD camera. The 720p mode, is lower res than full HD but I've found it more than adequate for sports analysis with the added advantage of the files being a quarter of the size for uploading. I upload the video to PowerChalk.com and can use their web service to analyze the clips.
Summary: I bought this because of its high mp on stills and low price. Its not very adaptable with manual settings. Its at its best with the auto settings. No light during video only on flash. Over all it makes my home movies just fine and sometimes the stills come out crystal clear.
Summary: I read so many reviews on this camcorder and like just about every other product out there, you read reviews that praise it and those that condemn it. Of course I've learned that you need to ignore the total condemnation ones and the "God" like praiseworthy ones and stick to the middle. This Camcorder is what it is, a 170 dollar camcorder. The original MSRP may have been over 300 but be assured it is not worth 300. However, it is worth 170.
Summary: I purchased this camera because my wife and I just had a baby girl and wanted to capture all her little moments in life. I wanted a camera that was portable, easy to handle, good quality video and easy to use for my wife. This camera is all of those things and more. Its light and easy to hold for long periods of time, the anti-shake works pretty well and for the size of the camera a 3.0 inch view screen is great.
Summary: I am not a camera savvy person in any way, but i went out on a limb and purchased this one mainly because of the reviews and the great price. It is quite easy to figure out and get set up on my laptop. I use Corel for video editing. I shoot youtube videos which can usually be up to 10 mins long if not a little longer. With the camera being fully charged, i can only have it turned on for maybe 30 mins before the battery dies.
Summary: I have owned this for over 6 months now. It does what it is supposed to do. Biggest problem IMO is the battery that comes with it is too weak. Only lasts about 1 hour. I bought an after market battery and now I can go 2 hours of recording. Annoying stuff: 1) When played back through the camera to the TV the "on-screen display" functions can not be hidden.
Summary: I don't think you can beat it for the price. I wanted a reasonably priced consumer HD camcorder that was capable of at least 60 fps, and this fits the bill. The on-board 4G of storage is a nice bonus. It's not the best in low-light (but it's not the worst either) and the sound quality leaves something to be desired. Also, the battery does drain quite quickly, but additional batteries aren't too expensive.
Summary: Have only begun to use this item but right away can say that the battery that comes with the unit has VERY short life. Will definitely need a longer life battery. Price was great and although it was not sold by Amazon, the order was fulfilled by Amazon with their usual prompt Prime service.
