Excerpt: I bought this camera as my first upgrade from a DSLR with the hopes that it would open up s new world of tools for me to use and make my life easier on set. A lot of the features for this camera did make filming much nicer and easier but this camera kind of took the fun out of filmmaking for me. So here is a list of pros and cons. Pros: Audio from XLRs is amazing compared to DSLRs. Focus peaking is cool. (not always 100% accurate though.
Pros: Great Sound
Cons: Complicated To Operate, Poor Image Quality, Poor In Low Light
Excerpt: I researched cameras for about 5 months before purchasing the FS100. I was originally looking at the 5D Mark III, but wanted a camera just for video. I did so much research I was losing my mind, but I finally decided on the FS100, and I can say I made the right choice. I film sports primarily, and recently brought it to the US Wrestling Nationals in Vegas, and the depth of field on this camera was fantastic.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: really needs a tripod rig or handle to be functional and it would have been just that much nicer if the ND filter was somehow built in - the ND filter we got also wasn't compatible with the lens hood that comes with it
Pros: Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: Excellent camera. Plan to buy a good rugged handle for it if you plan on working with it. The body is awkward to carry without a professional handle. Other than that, with lense kits to use whatever you want on this Super35mm body, this camera is a serious tool for productions. It was designed to be modular, so as it comes stock, it leaves you wanting a little bit more from it.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound
Excerpt: I use this camera for industry productions and i really do love the image this camera puts out. With the correct settings the HD image has a great film like quality. The lack of the auto zoom is not a great feature but if you work off the lense it is not a problem.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: I've had this camera for over a year. Yes, when I first got it, it was a little awkward, but as I got used to it....it's AMAZING. All the negative comments about the "kit lens" not being as good as a Canon are bogus. Show me a Canon kit lens that's half as good as this one. There are some amazing lenses out there for this camera for alot less than Canon's mid quality lineup and produce better than most of Canon's L series.
Pros: Built To Last, Durable, Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: This is the third time we purchased this camera. We use it to produce a TV program in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. We love the changeable lens and available accessories. You must purchase the extra large battery to be usable all day.
Pros: Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom
Excerpt: This camera has been eclipsed by the FS-700, but we bought one to serve as the #2 camera to an FS-700 as we already had Slo-Mo and the other FS-700 features in our #1 cam. We tried using several other less expensive solutions for the second point of view in interviews, but this camera teamed up with an Atmos Ninja gives beautiful results, and matches the 700 image quality pretty closely.
Pros: Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound
Excerpt: Out of the box this camera makes a nice picture. The Kit lens feels sturdy enough and doesn't breathe a lot. It's a little slow, but for the price, what do you expect? It covers a nice focal range and I'm not finding too much to complain about. I love that there are six buttons on the side that are all fully customizable. Being able to create custom picture profiles is a nice option and overall the camera has a very professional feel.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound
