Summary: I had the hardest time trying to decide between the Sony Bloggie and the Flip. i don't regret getting the bloggie and i'm extremely happy with the job it does. of course it isn't some fancy recording camera but i like the job it does with the features it has built in. It doesn't make miracles in dark places but it takes whatever light is available and kinda brightens up a picture on it's own. neat i'd say.
Summary: Well, I get this cam after searching a lot of other options. I needed a camcorder in HD to make videoreviews, nothing funzy just simple stuffs...I think this is perfect. I like the design, the screen, that accepts SDHC and memory stick and the colors of the video (very vivid!) I dont like: the glossy surface (finger tip marks), neither the software, is just kinda useless to me, and of course that charges via USB...that could be problem.
Summary: Image kinda wobbly when held in hand, had problems with video recorded in 1080. Not the best for pics, I cant keep it steady enough to take a good pic. But if it still it takes good pics. Auto focus is pretty good. Easy menus. Quick to turn on record about 4 seconds. Sound is good. Zoom is very good too. Just came back from 4,000 mile road trip recording everything from hiking to museums and it did a great job. Be sure to buy another battery.
Summary: We purchased this for our son. He has used this for a few school projects and on vacation. He said it is good, he has finally figured it out, and enjoys all that he can do with it. He would recomend it to others. (I have never used it so this is from his opinion.
Summary: I purchased the Sony MHS-CM5 bloggie HD video camera to record life's moments and share with friends and family over the internet. The picture quality isn't wonderful and the video camera has a hard time keeping up with the movements of my ADHD son. However, for the price, I didn't expect much. As mentioned in other reviews, the picture quality is much better in outside environments. Low-light recording results in poor quality video and a very dark picture.
Summary: pros: small, convenient, 1080p, optical zoom, has tripod mount, picture quality is pretty good, sound quality is good. cons: even fully zoomed out, the lens is (in my opinion) too narrow for a handheld camera. there are no threads on lens for filters, or a wide angle lens etc. auto focus is slow.
