Summary: Ended up getting this camera for my Youtube channel that I conduct interviews on. I use this camera, along with a Sony HDR-CX700V for nightvision shots. The NX5U gives you great quality. It has two XLR inputs that I use wireless clip on mics with. It comes with a shotgun mic too, which is nice. You can full manual control over pretty much all of the settings, or set everything to auto. It comes with a few different filters for how bright or dark it is outside.
Summary: This SONY HXR-NX5U is excellent for event Video & Wedding Video. This gives you full freedom to manual option to get the best video out of it the way you want. External flash memory drive is bonus and you can have backup on all the time when you shoot important events. When compare to Panasonic HMC150 Sony NX5U has a better lens than HMC-150 It's gives you more wider shots.I like the camera so far but price is little bit expensive.
Summary: I've shot in many different situations (daylight, indoor, low light, sun exposition, sunset, sunrise, slow motion, car racing, interviews, etc) and none of these disappointed me in any way. An external monitor is recommended for color management. Shoot in real 1080p 24fps like cinema.
Pros: Incredible G lens, easy to manage data and shoot in many formats
Summary: This is the perfect film student's camcorder, period. Forget that the Z series even exists (unless your sponsor is Maxell Mini DV Tape). HMC 150 is a classic, and an antique, so forget that, too. Here's the hard truth, at this price level, NX5U is the perfect camcorder. And if you're a film student, look no further.
Summary: I went straight to 720 60p and have not shot in anything else since i bought it... Its just so clear and sharp... I'm so happy with the image quality (out of the box), i have not even felt the need to start tweaking, plus i think i'm now a AVCHD convert too, seems to handle fast motion really well.
Summary: DV tape is a thing of the past. Tons of recording formats to choose from, personally love the 720P quality. Operating in full manual is a bit tricky but not bad. There are 8 preset buttons, 2 XLR inputs, plenty of outputs, which together make this camera AWESOME.
One of the best Prosumer cameras out there...none comes even close!

Summary: This is easily one of the best HD Cameras on the Prosumer level of any kind. The quality of the image, thanks to the Zeiss lens is incredible. I shot on the run in New Zealand in the middle of winter, and was able to get great definition from everything from the foreground to the background. Leaves and grass are clearly separated and not like in most HD cameras all bunched up together. Stunning.
Summary: I bought 2. This is TRULY the future of video cameras. I bought the FMU128Flash drive to go with this camera and it performs flawlessly. The only advise I would give Sony is to make getting the video to the editing drive a little easier and maybe with different formats so anyone can begin editing immediately without having to convert first.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
