Great Upgrade

15 September 2014
  • Excerpt: This is a replacement for an ailing AX2000, and has been a joy to use. Pretty much identical form factor, aside from a few small differences (secondary accessory shoe, upgraded 16: 9 LCD, on-body LED array, etc). Anything I could shoot with my AX2000 I can shoot better here - no complaints. The many different recording options (you can record different formats to different cards, record to both cards simultaneously, etc) are INSPIRED.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD

  • Excerpt: Shooting COPS style reality tv show with these. Has many great features: the added shoe is nice, 60p is nice, shoots beautiful looking footage with the three chip sensor, screen is better over previous generation, all the ease and functionality/customizability that comes with a handycam. Decent audio preamps. On screen displays that show all your settings even in auto is nice. The rings are nice and smooth.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
  • Cons: Poor In Low Light

Little Work Horse!

  • Excerpt: I use this camera mainly for on-site interviews and meetings. Good overall performance. Easy setup and very lightweight. Things that I don't like, the toggle zoom can't be adjusted like the Canon XH-A1.You have to use the toggle on the handle; then go into menu to adjust speed. The video compression is not too bad, recommend recording 1080p on "PS" setting for 28 MPs recording.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Zoom range/performance

  • Excerpt: I use this camcorder to capture Church activities, mostly indoor, both with ample light and low light. The video capture is very good, good colors and very natural. Very impressed with the 3 sensors. Used to capture Choir while in motion and was very much impressed with the footage and with the built in image Stabilization. Haven't done lot of Outdoor shooting, but judging by whatever little that was done, it looked very good. Need to explore more.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom

VERY HAPPY and within Expectations

  • Excerpt: I use this camera to film action-sports. The 1080 at 60p mode is what I film in all the time. The camera has many advanced functions and is relatively easy to use once acclimated. Having the ability to record 422 via HDMI is awesome. Especially being that the Atomos Shogun will be able to record 1080 at 120fps in 422. I know that there are cameras out there with a bit sharper image quality however for the type of video I record this was the best choice.

  • Excerpt: I purchased the NX3 moving to "tapeless" capturing from the HDR-FX1000. I am a "pro-hobby" user. Based on the initial tests, it seems to perform just as described. I will be shooting the first event with it in 2 weeks. I also purchased the NX03U as my second camera; I previously used two FX1000s. I am delighted with both so far! Purchased both from B&H. Best supplier going! No BS, good/fair pricing and impeccable service.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance

good pro entry level

  • Excerpt: I was using an HDV camera (FX1) before it. That is Why I choose the Sony and not another brand, for the batteries and accessories I have fit in it. The avchd format is a consumer oriented, however I can say the final image quality is enough for my purposes. It can not record from the HDMI out into the hyperdeck shuttle. It is because this camera output 1080p60. you need to set 1080i60 manually.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound

Wonderful Camcorder

  • Excerpt: Wonderful Camcorder it is exactly what i was looking for! The image quality is absolutely at the top end in this camera range. The image of this camera is clean and sharp the colors look beautiful very naturally. The low light capability especially when you do your own settings in manuell mode it`s very good, in auto mode i think it is usable up to 9dB gain.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD
