This camcorder incorporates an LCD display by Clear Photo plus that measures 3.5 inches wide. It also uses 2 XLR inputs for audio to manage the sound captured by the shotgun microphone built in the camcorder. Exposure may be done manually or automatically. It also has a viewfinder on its LCD measuring 0.44 inch.

    I bought the HVR-V1U and have been using it for recording a live band. Can anyone give me some tips on how best to record live music with this system? No built in mic, seems to limit it to mono recording and the mic that came with it doesn't capture great live music.
