The Sony HVR V1U Professional HDV Camcorder makes use of a 3 CMOS sensor system by ClearVid. The ratio of 4 is to 2 is to 2 on color is used by the Sony Enhanced Image Processor. It also makes use of Vario Zonnar T Lens manufactured by Carl Zeisss. It has an optical zoom of 20x and a digital extender of 1.5x. This camcorder incorporates an LCD display by Clear Photo plus that measures 3.5 inches wide. It also uses 2 XLR inputs for audio to manage the sound captured by the shotgun microphone built in the camcorder. Exposure may be done manually or automatically. It also has a viewfinder on its LCD measuring 0.44 inch.

Audio question on V1U - recording bands

I bought the HVR-V1U and have been using it for recording a live band. Can anyone give me some tips on how best to record live music with this system? No built in mic, seems to limit it to mono recording and the mic that came with it doesn't capture great live music.
