Summary: It doesn't tell you on the description, but this silly thing takes tape which means you have to buy a stupid firewire card for your computer (The SONY kind of firewire) and Sony frewire hates Windows 7 . . . so you will have trouble gewtting it inot your computer. By the 2000 with a hard drive. I mean really, digital TAPE!!!? That is so 1995.
Summary: This is a great camera! I owned one for two years, I filmed everything from weddings, commercials, and hunts and it never let me down. If you get an XLR adapter you can really expand the capabilities of this camcorder.
Summary: I love a lot of the features on this camcorder, however it doesn't do that well in low light unless you have proper lighting. I was needing a little more quality in the video but at 6.1 megapixles you can't really expect miracles.
Summary: As a film maker and a movie producer, I need a camera which is not only support HDV, but also have a professional outlook. 1000U is my best camera! Extremely clear and easy to use, you don't need to worry about how to push these bottoms on this camera, just know a few and you can start working! Image is stable and sound is great! Backlight function is awesome!!
Summary: Had to convince the boss to keep the camera and he has been nothing but pleased with it. Produced a few TV shows with it and cannot complain. Very adaptable to Final cut pro and iMovie. When received thought it would just be another large paper weight but has surprised me tremendously!!! Seller kept communication with thru a few keeping camera issues but in the long run we use constantly and are very happy.
Summary: You can't argue with results, and I have gotten excellent results with this camera. I shoot in some challenging conditions (the cabs of steam locomotives in less than good weather, for instance) and I have never been let down. Rain, sun, hot, cold, fog, you name it; this camera has been great in the field. The picture is excellent, and the audio holds up its end as well.
