Summary: Because an image worth a thousands words, check out my video I did with the same camera on youtube /watch?v=aa7og434IoM, overall it's a very good camera very solide and have quick response, lots of feature for custom movies, the quality of the image is excellent!
Summary: I use this camera for both video capture as well as live output via hdmi to a projection screen during private events. As another user stated, it works great with Sony Vegas Pro for post-editing. Tremendous plus is the external mic input. Just bought a back-up on ebay for a great price.
Summary: This Camcorder is top notch. It is the second one I have purchased. There is nothing wrong with the first one but I want to be able to video from two angles and am so pleased with the first one that I didn't want to buy anything else.
Sony's HDR-XR500V Handycam Work Horse For Real Estate Property Videos.
24 December 2011
Summary: The Sony's HDR-XR500V Handycam is one bullet proof, shoot in any conditions hard working video camera. My second Sony and I use it for Maine real estate videos, local community shoot, edit, render and uploads to You Tube and other platforms. It has an amazing leveler for steady easy pans, an on board still 12 meg in case you left your still point and shoot home. Or its battery goes dead. The quality, price, dependability of this camera makes it my pick.
Summary: hi guys if you are thinking about buying a camcorder and you have the extra money this is the best camcorder for you. it has high quality stills picture also an auto mode that takes still pictures during your video (hd) recording whenever someone is smiling. and many more great features.
Summary: I've had this camera for a couple of months now and haven't really put it to the full test but so far I very much like it. I'm a total dunce when it comes to learning how to operate things like this but this camera was a snap. Sony's manual is very clear and easy to follow and the camera is intelligently designed. I just can't get over how small and light weight it is! The picture is gorgeous and it uploads on to my mac through imovie really easily.
Summary: I can't ask for a better camera. The picture quality is exceptional and there is absolutely no jittery recording with this camera. The price was hefty but you get what you pay for. One thing that I didn't like is the fact that, you have to turn on the camera to get the memory card out. It could be elsewhere where I didn't have to turn the camera on. This is not a big deal but I thought I mention it.
Summary: I love camera's image quality, colors extended dinamical range and much much more. Camera is capturing excellent quality video clips in almost any light conditions. It is easy of use, although I'd prefer to use regular buttons rather than touch screen. G-series Lens is very sharp, electronic viewfinder is very helpful in bright light conditions and 3.2" screen is very sharp and detailed. Playback is very conveniently made. I don't like Owner's manual only.
A nice AVCHD encoder/recorder that makes me happy (for now)

Summary: I hesitated a lot about buying the Panasonic TM300 or Sony's HDR-XR500V. Like most consumers cautiously waiting for spending circa US$ 1000+ in an electronic appliance, I read thoroughly all reviews. Unfortunately I had to make a decision, no procrastination allowed. I decided Sony. Perhaps this will help you decide. In light of this, I am sure that you may benefit from my line of reasoning. 1.
