Great camera….just know what format it records in.

A. Currie, Amazon
26 March 2014
  • Summary: Love most features about this camera. Only frustration is that it records in .mts and in order for me to use the clips, I have to convert the files. I feel like I am losing some of the quality of the picture in doing so. It's another step that I don't always have time for. Great zoom, great picture, good in low light. Good battery power. I bought two extras. Nice option for extra card space.

Great for home use, but...

Amazon Customer "Syndicator", Amazon
7 July 2013
  • Summary: This is a great camera for home use. Light, great quality reproduction. Really a very good camera. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that files are saved in Sony's proprietary format, so if you are shooting and send it to someone to be edited, you will have to convert the files to MP4. I purchased the camera to do some internal videos and use an outside individual to do the editing and add effects.

Camcorders capabilities expected to enhance ever more precious field time

Amazon
30 March 2013
  • Summary: The capabilities of this camcorder have greatly exceeded my expectations.........I especially like its image stability in the out of doors. I would rate it higher but for the fact that I haven't had it long enough to use a major portion of its options.........In fact, thus far, my only dislike is my own painfully slow ascent of its learning curve.

Does what is required

Pharmanator, Amazon
22 February 2013
  • Summary: It does what is required. Although it has a weird function with the SSD memory. If you take it out of the camera and put it onto your computer, it still saves some of it onto the card. You have to be very thorough in how you clean left over files from this thing. Its not always the most user friendly....

Excellent Camera but needs a few more features to be 5 star

SteelerfaninPeru, Amazon
22 January 2013
  • Summary: I bought this camera to use on a low budget video production project, and so far I'm very pleased with it's video quality and recording ability. The 160gb hard drive is excellent and so far I haven't experienced any loss of data. It might be more than you actually need but it's good for long sessions. The video quality is superb, and there are lots of easy to use options for white balance control, f-stop control, and focus control.

Great camera! (heads up, no viewfinder)

Darin, Amazon
7 January 2013
  • Summary: This is a great camcorder - works beautifully in low light conditions - but I wish it had a viewfinder. I like to have the option to hold the camera up to my eye & reduce glare issues in bright sunlight.

Really like it - wish a couple things were different

Cindy J. Vivlamore, Amazon
30 November 2012
  • Summary: Needed a camera to take video's of my daughter's sports games. Needed something that would capture good quality video, a camera with a lot of built-in storage, and a battery capacity that would last through the games. The camera definitely captures good video even from at a distance. The zoom control and quality is great. Automatic framing is a pretty cool quality and helps when shooting from a tripod. The built in 160GB memory is wonderful.

Its good but..

Fritz "outside is where I belong not on Amazon", Amazon

  • Summary: As Handycams go it seems good but I use mine mainly for recording wildlife and at times I need full zoom and thats where it goes a bit wrong its just isn't as sharp as I like. But apart from that its easy to use and quick to fire up so you don't miss things which is important for what I need it for.
