Excerpt: I mainly use this for recording my kids band concerts. I've only had it a couple of weeks and so far so good. I've recorded an outdood concert and it turned out very good. All in all I'm pleased with it so far.
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality
Summary: Great image quality, fun, fun, fun projector throws more light than I would have thought. Highly recommend this camcorder...replaced a top of the line SONY from 5 years ago and not missing the 240GB hard drive given all the new features and convenience.
Summary: This camera has the BEST image stabilization I have ever seen. The lens floats around the inside of the camera and it is awesome! I always tend to have shaky hands, so my shots with regular video cameras are always shaky. But with this camera they are totally smooth without a tripod!
Summary: I searched online for hours and throughout the B&H catalog for a camcorder that included amongst its features GPS...a MUST have feature which enables one to view where the video was taken in the first place by locating the spot on a map via software! A handy capability months after a video's been shot, and not having any discernable features that would otherwise ID where the video was taken! This camcorder included this feature!
Excerpt: Having used professional cameras in my career, i wanted something acceptable HD quality that was affordable, for shooting home movies & family travel videos. Being small & easy to cary/use was important. -The optical stabilization is AMAZING! Best I've seen in a prosumer camera. -Having built in 96GB storage is fantastic! Thats a lot of hours of HD video!
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Large Clear LCD
Summary: Like many others, I read every single pro and con review I could find before deciding on the Sony Handycam HDR-PJ790V camcorder. After about two weeks of solid research, I decided to spend twice my budget to get this beast of a camcorder. It replaced my Canon Vixia HF-10. For the videographer enthusiast, I know there are other models with better features but this things does everything I need and a lot more.

Summary: I have been a professional videographer for the past 20 years. Won several awards too. Worked in VHS, then Hi-8, DVcam and now in several HD format(s). I have followed this camera since it won top camera CES award last year. I needed a small and light-weight camera for travel and upcoming small production work (run and gun). Adding additional lighting and XLR audio equipment fill the few voids that this camera has.
