Summary: It doesn't get better than Sony's PJ710V digital HD camera. After extensive research I bought this for our family at Christmas 2012 and have not been disappointed. In fact, this camera continues to impress me each time I use it. The ability to project your videos on to any surface is just an added bonus. The floating lens is phenomenal. I no longer have shaky movies and they look as though everything was shot from a tripod, not my trembling hands.
Summary: How I got into the Sony Brand was I got my wife a Sony cyber-shot 16.2 mega pixels small camera for Christmas. I was so blown away by the picture quality but when I took video I really was blown away. I got more camera for my money so I knew That my next video camera would be a Sony. This Sony camcorder is worth the money it ask for and more .if you got any better camcorder you would have to go Pro. and pay 5 times the price to get the same or better quality.
Great camcorder if purchased way under shelf price.

Summary: It is the best camcorder from the last line of SONY camcorders I had chance to use. The picture quality is just outstanding, (not comparing to pro-level camcorders). The zoom is little too fast, but it compensates with super fast focusing. Only one thing which makes me worry is the "error E:91:01" to occur, what did happen to the two previous models with build in LED flash light, (HDR-PJ50V and HDR-XR350V) after 2 to 3 months of use.
Summary: Everything is good here- I agree with all positive reviews. Only one thing I don't like: to watch video , recorded on SDHC memory card , you must download SONY PLAY MEMORIES HOME to the computer, on which you want to watch video,i.e. it is additional problem to share your video. The same problem is when you use external hard drive, you can't even format it on your PC, but only using the camcorder. First I bought CANON VIXIA HF G10 camcorder.
Wonderful Camcorder with Fantastic Steady System and Low Light Performance!
9 February 2013
Summary: I bought this to replace my 3 years old Panasonic HD camcorder. The old one perform poorly under low light condition. I expected the new camcorder to do well in the night, steady and have shallow of depth of field. PJ710 exceeds my expectation for the first 2 requirements, shallow DOF is not so good. Anyway, not consumer camcorder can handle this right now. === Pro: For the low light performance, I shot some videos for Las Vegas night view.
Summary: I cannot say enough good things about this camera!!! buy it! you will love it as much as I do. I searched for a small camera that I wouldnt need to buy discs or tapes and that was not heavy and which had night vision. this not only has night vision but you don't need the night vision because it has a recording light so you can record on normal. High quality recording as well. I even tested it on a movie from across the room.
Summary: we used this camera to record the birth of our data. we set it up on a tripod and recorded the scene from a "PG" (ok maybe PG-13) angle. The recordings were clear--good sound quality. The projector is AWESOME--very clear and easy to focus, and it's worth it to spring for it if you can. The camera may be a bit overkill for our needs. If you use the highest res, you can't take stills during recording, so I end up going one below.
Summary: I have been looking to buy a new camcorder. I make movies / videos with my family and friends and I really wanted to upgrade to HD. So I went to Bestbuy to test out cameras. I saw this one on display and turned it on and immediately knew this one was the one to buy.... So I went home and found it cheaper on Amazon! It has so many features: Built in projector - Really cool feature to review some of your clips Night-mode - Really cool feature...
