Picture Quality is Perfect! The Cam is Heavy and Bulky but a Small Sacrifice for Video Quality!

Summary: This feature rich, quality camera is the one you will grow into instead of growing out of. I have found if you buy the top of the line, most recent technology, you get to enjoy the product much longer than if I bought a modest model. The day after I received it, I recorded my stepson's basketball game and the camera worked perfectly! For the few extra ounces, it was worth the steady-shot technology and clarity and color of the video.
Summary: I am new to the camcorder so please don't make any decision based on my review alone! Prior to PJ710, I bought another SONY camera, an entry level one, CX260v. Played a few days. Felt like wanting to try a higher level one so I returned that and got this. Played with it a week and take it to a 3 days' trip to Houston. Below are a few things I like about this camera: PROS: 1. Manual Dial.
Summary: I'm not going to lie, since the late 90's, I've been a pretty solid Canon customer. Sony gear always seemed just a little too proprietary (I'm talking to you, MemoryStick) and just a little overpriced. But the HDRPJ710V has definitely changed my perceptions. I've been using a Canon Vixia HFS10 for the past couple years, so I'm accustomed to a "prosumer" camcorder.
