Gave me the control I needed !

  • Excerpt: The wired remote is a great option to control the camera when I need to step away from the camera. The built in projector was great to show the soccer team the game footage right after the game at a team dinner.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Zoom range/performance

  • Summary: Sony must design these camcorders for people with small hands. I returned it. People write glowing reviews about this product, but no thanks ...

Great for HS students

CHS Pirate TV, B&H Photo
18 September 2014
  • Excerpt: We bought three of these for use in our High School editing classes. The picture quality is the best we've seen from a camera in this price range (got them on-sale for less than $ each). The stabilization is also cool, especially for hard-headed students who don't want to carry a tripod out on their shoots. Chose this model because it allows for external mic. I liked the fact it has an accessory shoe, BUT since it's recessed, we haven't been able to make use of it.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, External mic input, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Zoom range/performance
  • Cons: Accessroy Shoe Recessed

Great camcorder

  • Excerpt: Great for outdoor shooting, excellent stabilization due to Sony's BOSS system. Wish the indoor shooting and low light shooting was a little better but for the price range it's an excellent camera.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
  • Cons: Average in low light, Average sound

Excellent camcorder for a safari in Botswana

17 May 2014
  • Summary: Loved using this little handycam. It was perfect for videos of the animals and everything that moved on our latest safari. The color is beautiful, it is easy to use and the stabilization is amazing. What a help all the other reviews were so I feel that I picked one of the very best ones. It's really small too so nice for carrying around.

Great camera with one major flaw

Roger Thornhill "mediahound", Amazon
8 May 2014
  • Summary: It's a great camera, but I am still unable to upload video from the camera to my Mac. I had to buy a card reader to do it. The user's guide was no help because it didn't explain exactly how to upload video. When it comes to computers and other technology, I need to learn every little step to do what I want, and the user's guide fell far short of being helpful. As for delivery and the condition of the camera, which was used, they were first class.

  • Summary: After careful research, I am convinced that I have spent my money wisely. Love the projector, and the portability, not to mention all the aftermarket accessories available for my purchase.

Not so GREAT!!

John, B&H Photo
8 January 2014
  • Excerpt: The HDR-PJ430V Camcorder should come with a remote to stop and start recording and playback. I would like to know what Sony was thinking regarding The external Wi-Fi option is totally useless if you want to use a light on the Multi Shoe which is recessed in the top of the body forcing you to use their light accessories only. The Wi-Fi should be built into the camera or built into the LED light accessory, because you will need a light for any indoor shooting.
  • Pros: Easy to Use
  • Cons: Poor In Low Light
