The Sony HDR-HC7 is a digital camcorder that is equipped with a 3-megapixel ClearVid CMOS sensor, a 2.7-inch widescreen Clear Photo LCD Plus, a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens, and Memory Stick Duo media slot.

The Sony HDR-HC7’s ClearVid CMOS sensor provides stunning detail and clarity for both video and still image performance, while providing longer battery life. Its Carl Zeiss lens has advanced multi-layer coating that increases image contrast with less flare and glare. It also features Sony’s Real-Time HD Codec Engine which provides MPEG2 compression, and recording and playback of clear HD images at the same bit rate of DV format. With its x.v.Color feature, it provides more accurate and vivid color range for a true-to-life experience since it can capture and display nearly twice as many viewable colors currently possible. The Sony HDR-HC7 allows its user to take full control of focus, exposure, shutter speed, and white balance with its manual control. It is capable of recording video and still images at the same time using its 6.1-megapixel still image capture with a 10x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom.
