Excerpt: great comcorder exceptional quality not too bad under low light but all in all sony need to improve on their quality of these strips they use in these cameras this company cant continue to have the customers pay these heavy prices for a camers and after six months the strip cut the cassette tray opens up and never goes down back come on sony it a recurring problem in all the cameras i bought from sony
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: I use this camcorder for church video production as well as other one-time jobs. This was a replacement for a Sony HDR-HC9 I had been using over 5 years, but which developed some problems after a fall. The FX7 is a nice upgrade, with the 20x lens and more controls on the body instead of in the menu, though there are still plenty of those. It seems more rugged, too, metal construction vs. the hard plastic I had before.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: I have 3 of these cameras which we use for live streaming at my church. All 3 have had problems with the F-stop adjustment dial and 1 has had a back focus problem. Overall it is a good camera.
Pros: Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Summary: I pick up this to see if it was better than my Sony 1000u cam which was bigger in size. I do like the smaller size and the body compare to 1000u. I do notice that this camcorder works better in lower light condition with the gain control that not on the 1000u. Using the function buttons and menu take a little time to master but once you learn them they become second hand. Mike is ok but get a better 1/8 phono mike if you want better sound when recording music videos.
Excerpt: Really solid camera, great use with good lighting. This is not the best camera for low -light, but serves its purpose in many other situations. I use this camera for documentary style production, music videos, and many other types of video production.
Excerpt: i use this camera for wedding videos and it works pretty well, i do recommend to always use an on camera light for any low light situation, video quality is great, and overall a good camera specially if you are in a [$] budget.
Pros: Great Picture Quality, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Summary: Has been using this camera for a few days now, I noticed that picture quality is much better than a handheld video camera I used before. my advice 1) get a battery with bigger capacity. The one comes with the camera will last you only 1 hr or less. 2) I am a little disappointed with video quality at the low light. you may consider buying a lighting equipment if you shot indoor.
Excerpt: I needed a dedicated event camcorder as I use DSLR for movies and music videos. This seem to be the best cam in this price range. There are more manual controls than I expected. It is a step down from the Canon XH-A1 I recently sold, but I am happy with the purchase. I really like the 3.5" LCD screen. On the down side, it definitely could be a little better in low light situations.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
Summary: it produces good colour footage, nice and light to carry round, i like the use of the ND filters, good manual and auto features without having tonnes of things you can do with it in the menu section, like making you a cup of tea,! . just straight forward and simple. the only down side i've had is that i'm not sure if its a faulty connection, but non of my computers can read the camera with the i.link connected, i even taken in to computer store, but could not figure it...
