An amazing HD camcorder with quality video, zoom, controls, and features.

Summary: This is rather a large camcorder by consumer standards, but is remarkably good in quality, features, and ease of use. The HD video is spectacular, and the focus (as well as other manual features) are good and easy. At 10x optical zoom, this camcorder isn't bad, but I must say that the 20x digital zoom on top of that produces the best quality I've ever seen in a digital zoom.
Summary: I've wanted one of these for 3 years and I finally got my hands on one and guess what? It Rocks my Socks. Powerful, cool and compact. This lil camera is perfect for anything aside from shooting a Hollywood film. Has slots for attachments and has a huge CMOS LCD screen. What does CMOS mean IDK But I can shoot video on the beach and actually see what I am shooting on the LCD.
Summary: I love this camcorders quality and the fact it stores on a flash card. It's HD quality is as good as I've seen. I like it's handy size also. I bought this one as it had a nightshot IR setting. It works great in total darkness. I would definately recommend if you want a camcorder that stores on a flash card.
Summary: Sony is the best when it comes to cameras with night shot. I tried a little bell & howell and what a waste of money that was. I should have put the money towards another on of these. Its HD is great and battery consumption is awesome when doing our paranormal investigations. We don't have to worry about changing batteries when we use the right size for the job. THANKS, Sony, but you should've kept making them.
Sony HDR-CX12 - is the best Sony camcorder among the recent models

Summary: I have tried many camcorders before choosing this one. The main advantage of HDR-CX12 is large 35mm Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar® lens, that provides higher that average camcorders video performance. After this model Sony switched to smaller non Carl Zeiss lens, and that's were all problems started: everything looks dark even at bright light;"blue-dots" artifacts( due to small size and week performance of own Sony lens).
Summary: It's a great camera. The only thing I'm still getting used to is the lack of a viewfinder. It's compact, lightweight, and records great quality footage, even with adverse conditions. i.e: Rain, Snow, Fog.
