Be aware of editing issues

De Cheseris, Amazon
28 March 2008
  • Summary: The camera is amazing, the quality of the images extraordinary etc etc. All true. Especially good is the lack of any audio hum from the camera - as no moving parts, so the built in microphone is actually quite useful for a change. But the camera is ahead of the PCs and MACs editing abilities in that AVCHD is not yet edited natively. The sequence goes something like this. 1 record an hours footage in high def onto 4GB memory stick.

Amazing !

P. Marrocco, Amazon
2 March 2008
  • Summary: After carefully reading up on all the camcorders available and other customer reviews I opted for this model . . I was'nt disappointed. After ordering it arrived next morning. Straight out the box put the memory card in and did some test shots indoor and outdoor. I then went to my playstaion 3 and played back on my 42 inch Pioneer Plasma and inserted the memory card , pressed play and wow ! Stunning images and sound . Went to my pc and installed the software provided .

  • Summary: we haven't had any bad experience with the uncovered speakers - no unwanted wind noise considering i was using it on Eurodisney's rides. SUPER STEADYSHOT works really well, much better than the older models but obviously not as good as their professional range. its amazingly to see the quality on a 1080 full HD lcd, what a jump forward from the days of using mini DV tapes!!
  • Pros: gobsmackingly clear, highly defined and true colour HD quality images, especially displayed on 1080i lcd
  • Cons: approx 1hrs worth of HD 1080 quality recording on an 8GB memory stick.... suits me ok but only because i record many short 3-5min movies at a time whilst on holiday. not much good for those who likes to document longer footage. memory cards still aren't cheap enough yet.

Great camera for great quality filming

Mr. G. D. Whitehead "Graham", Amazon
21 December 2007
  • Summary: I can't wait to get out and about and start filming with the superb camera (just waiting for my case to arrive) - from what I have filmed so far (using the highest quality settings) the quality is spot on with images as sharp and clear as ones you'd expect to see from a TV documentary, I do agree with other reviews that the low light quality is a bit grainy but if you set the exposure to manual and tweak the settings you can reduce this to an acceptable level.

One Word - Awesome!!!

Gaz, Amazon
30 November 2007
  • Summary: I have just recently bought the Sony HDR-CX6 and as soon as i opened the box and the content's i instantly knew i had bought something special. Small, black, shiny and look's amazing (the camcorder is about the same size as a can of coca cola, it's so small). But don't let the size fool you because it is built sturdy and made to last. All of the button's are in the right place's and the touch screen is just a joy to work with.

WOW

Mr. J. E. Willson, Amazon
3 November 2007
  • Summary: I bit the bullet after studying which HD Camcorder would suit best.I have a Vaio Notebook and PS3 so it seemed a good idea to go for this cam. I have had several camcorders over the years, including the Canon XL2.I thought nothing would surprise me,but I am overwhelmed by the high quality that this cam delivers.I have never witnessed such sharp and vibrant video...and the colours are the most natural I have ever seen!!! Buy one!

Stunning technology, easy, brilliant

James Pollock, Amazon
28 October 2007
  • Summary: I've watched in horror as flashcards have doubled in size and halved in price on a regular basis over the last few years. So it was quite far-sighted of me to consider buying this Handycam. Preempting the day when 1Tb flashcards are the norm and hard disks are a thing of the past, I acquired the HDR-CX6E from Amazon 2 weeks ago.

  • Summary: Nice camera but make sure you don't buy it from Sony-Style (www.sonystyle.co.uk). They are overpriced compared to sites like pix mania or amazon and their customer service is incredibly shoddy, infact it is non-existent, it is staffed by salesmen that will tell you what ever you want to hear in the hope that you will just leave them alone.
  • Pros: Build, easy of use
  • Cons: Sony aftercare

Great little camcorder

Mr. K. Gale "Kevin Gale", Amazon
20 October 2007
  • Summary: Only 4 stars because I think the low light performance is a little noisy. BUT I'm very happy with the overall performance. We wanted a small camcorder that took generally good video in Hi.Def. and this does all we need. The Amazon price was the lowest around too. We brought the 8GB memory stick as part of the deal and it works 100%. Camera control is easy, the touch screen is responsive. PC connectivity is simple.

would give it more stars if I could, but dont buy memory sticks on ebay

Material_Possession, Amazon
8 October 2007
  • Summary: great camara for the money... but dont buy your memory sticks on ebay. You are not getting a good deal. I have over 1000 feedback on ebay. Trust me when I say this. EVERY memory stick on ebay is fake. Every single one. They brand them sony and even fake the packaging. They even appear as 8GB in windows properties. But as soon as you upload over about 2GB, they start behaving strangely.
