Summary: I got my Sony CX550 back in late 2010. More than four years later, I still love its picture/sound quality, performance and functionality. The LCD monitor is large and the image stabilization system is effective at reducing camera shake.
Summary: Because an image worth a thousands words, check out my video I did with the same camera on youtube /watch?v=aa7og434IoM, overall it's a very good camera very solide and have quick response, lots of feature for custom movies, the quality of the image is excellent!
Summary: This camera is easy to use and gives excellent results. Storage of 8hrs of HD video on internal memory is more than enough. It is also a very good still camera. I have been using video cameras since 1982 at home and this one has it all
Summary: A lot of the reviews here are great, some more technical than others but all quite informative. I have had this camera about a month now and here are a couple things I'd like to mention as well.
Summary: Bought this in January 2011 for recording family events, recording visual information for business purposes, and recording severe weather footage. Low light was a significant consideration as was ease of use, HD, sound quality, ease of use and a hot shoe for accessories (like an external mic).
Summary: Very small camera, produces great video. I now own two of these cameras. The battery that comes with the camera will only last about 2 hours. Suggest you buy the Opteka 4500mAh battery. That battery ran for over 5 hours. I had to buy a cold shoe adapter (off ebay), to mount my video light.
