Pros: Good customer support from Sony, large screen, plenty of flash memory.
Cons: Viewfinder could be a little larger and with rubber cups versus hard plastic, intellifocus and image stabilizer works but not suitable for action sports, video software is very limited in what it can do. Factory battery lasts less than an hour.
Summary: The video quality is awesome! Anybody looking for video ONLY I would highly recommend this product BUT, I needed the image quality to be just as good & it fell way short! Soo... I had to return it... images R more important that video to my needs.
Summary: This camcorder is one of the best choices for young filmmakers' advocates, with plenty of fun features and lots of extras like the Sony SPKCXA Sport Pack & Sony ECM-AW3 Wireless Microphone . In my opinion you get a more professional Camcorder with either Panasonic HDC-TM350 Twin Media HD Camcorder (Limited Edition) or Canon VIXIA HF S21 Dual Flash Memory Camcorder - 2010 MODEL . Good look in your selection!
Summary: Length:: 5:59 Mins COLOR: The camcorder does a good job in the color department, most of the time you get Accurate & Natural colors but other times it tends to vivid the blues & reds. The same happens with the Canon HF-S21, while Panasonic HDC-TM350 & HDC-TM700 looks more natural "most of the time". LCD: The touch responsiveness is simply amazing, comparing it to the Very Difficult to handle of the Canon HF-S21 and the just OK of the Panasonic family.
Summary: Be aware there is a possible problem with this model. Please visit AVS forums and do a search for 'BLUE DOT'. Users are reporting an annoying blue dot appears on the screen when recording in sunlight. I can verify this with my model. Videos have also been posted on YouTube demonstrating the Blue Dot. Indoors, the video is excellent, but outdoors, in sunlight, users are reporting this problem.
