Excerpt: I needed a camera for home movies. I own many professional cameras but it's tough without autofocus and a built in zoom. I find Sony has great low light capabilities and now I can catch my daughter playing with just one press of a button. I notice some grain at times when I feel the light isn't low and it also dual records which doesn't bother me that much but I question whether I should turn it off. But, overall, it's a good camera.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: I use the Sony CX330 as a back up cam, shoots great Full HD 60P. Camera is pretty much a point and shoot, not a lot of image control. works best on the tripod or monopod in flat situations, not as good in high contrast. whites tend to blow out, but overall image quality is high for this consumer model.Zoom is good, but is best when zoomed half or less.Great for travel, fits easily in a pocket and is very discreete.Upgrade to the biggest battery.
Pros: Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom
Summary: I purchased this camcorder to capture family moments. Set up time was quick, and I was recording in no time. The camcorder is very light weight and easy to use. You simply open the view finder to turn on the camcorder and push the record button. The zoom works great and is very steady while shooting freehand. The built in lens cover is a nice feature. The quality of the video is very good, even in low light.
Summary: Camera works well. I have had problems with the SIM card popping out and not recording as well as the bag it came with had a huge slice in the side. I don't use the bag so could care less. The SIM card issue is a pain.
Summary: Nice unit. Takes very solid video. Great battery life. Controls aren't particularly intuitive but you learn how to use them. I haven't had a video camera since the days of 8mm vid cassette and the cpst, quality and and convenience of these things has made quantum leaps in the past fifteen years.
Summary: This was my first camcorder and I am returning it, because I was shocked to discover that the autofocus mechanism results in audible sound being picked up from the internal camcorder mic. From what I've read subsequently online, internal noise from the autofocus and/or zoom mechanism can be a common issue for camcorders. Nevertheless, the introduction of unwanted noise into a video is a major problem for my recording needs (hence only 2 stars, specific to my situation).
