Summary: Light, compact and easy to use. Pictures very sharp. Bought for holiday in Norway to film biathletes in action and it worked very well including low light and stormy weather situations. If you want quality sound then this is not for you as the on-board mic is not very good. If you want good quality pictures then it is a great buy. Shame it didn't come with its own case. To date, very happy with purchase and would recommend it.
Summary: First handycam I have bought. Not used it that much yet. Bought for my coming holiday abroad. Both small and light. Has great anti shake built in which worked when I filmed in the cold and was shivering. Also bought a spare memory card and battery.
Summary: This camcorder is exactly what I've been looking for.I read many of the reviews about it before I made a purchase, and most people were more than pleased with its picture clarity. However little was said about the sound clarity.Let me assure anyone wishing to record themselves singing and playing an instrument,Its ideal.Even though it doesn't have an input for a mic.
The sony CX280, A good choice for wildlife camcorders
28 April 2014
Summary: I wanted to replace our old tape Cam but wanted the same quality I am used to without pixels and blurs. This sony CX280 is even better than I hoped. I thought HD was the answer but find I get the quality I want on ST so don't have huge file size and can make straight forward DVDs using the software I have always used (cyberlink). I am using a class 4 8G card. (I looked at the Sony ST only and the video was not of good quality when zooming etc.
Summary: This camera was the best, it was cheaper than Argos, £239, in amazon it cost £179.96! YOU CAN SAVE £59!, it was on time and is ready to be used. I recommend this product! Good and money save product!
Summary: I had been thinking of something to buy my husband for his birthday, and as we were going on holiday soon, this seemed the ideal present. My decision to select this make and model was prompted entirely from previous reviews as I know absolutely nothing about cameras! He was delighted to get an early birthday present and so far, is very pleased with the camera even though it has only been used for a quick test on the fish pond!
Summary: The camera is very easy to use and has some good features which although not essential, make life a little easier. Comes with an NP-Fv30 battery which the screen tells you is good for about 1hr30 from a full charge. I bought a spare NP-FV50 battery which is good for about 2hrs30. I also bought a Sandisk 32GB extreme card to go with it which gives roughly 2hrs40 recording time at max quality settings (1080x50p AVCHD) however these settings mean you can't take still photos...
Summary: I chose this model as my previous camcorder was a sony and I wanted an upgrade which was not too expensive and compatable with my other gismo's. Not disappointed. Very easy to record but the button for menu etc is frustrating. It is so small its hard to get it to go where you want. Think you will need a stylus or something to be accurate. My previous one had a touch screen which was much better and easier to navigate around the menu.
Summary: I had previously owned a Panasonic MiniDV (Tape) Camcorder which I had used for many years. However, I decided to update, but I was uncertain how good the quality of the pictures and video would be. I need not have worried as the results are excellent, but I have not fully tested its capabilities yet. The Instructions are clear and concise, and I am certain I will be able to use this for many years to come. I would certainly recommend this.
