Summary: I bought this in the summer of 2012 and still use it. I'm not sure why it takes still pictures because at night or low light, they are worthless. It's easy to use and takes great video. My only complaint would be the location of the on/off button. I'm not liking that too much. Some people complain about the menu but I could care less. I'm more concerned with the video quality and it does what I was looking for.
Summary: This is the first digital video camera I've owned. It's compact, very user friendly, and takes high quality video. I really like being able to use an SD card. It makes unlimited filming possible. There are still a lot of features I haven't had the chance to use. It's a lot of camera in a little package.
Summary: I got this camera for a very good price on Amazon . I will say I was impressed by the " night function " and the camera's ability to get very clear video in low light conditions. Being an investigator it was something that was very important to me. I was very pleased. Good job by Amazon Prime getting me the unit fast and secure.
Summary: I am a videographer for a local High School field hockey program and needed a new camcorder. I primarily purchase Sony because I use the Sony remote tripod. Wasn't sure about switching to SD card format for recording but it has worked out wonderfully. I have 2 Sony camcorders. One is my backup. No complaints here. This camcorder seems to do very well in lit stadiums, a problem I had with my last camcorder.
Summary: I know nothing about audio and video equipment. That being said, I love this camera because an extreme novice like myself can pick it up and use it with ease and get great video from it. So glad we picked this up before the birth of our first daughter.
Summary: I hate to review gadgetry before I have had a chance to really put it through its paces so I waited five months. I can say that I am 90% satisfied with this unit. I paired it with a 6-hour battery (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0087HSDG6/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_90) and have had no trouble with it reading a third-party device correctly. I also use it with a 32GB class 10 SD card, and recording and picture taking are snappy. I only have two problems with it: 1.
Better than the newer models and competitors alike.

Summary: This camera is one of the best "budget" cameras to record in all conditions. Consumer camcorders usually have lots of trouble in low light conditions for two reasons, the sensor (the chip that helps the camera to record "light") is very expensive and simply because optics. When you see a high end camera those are necessarily bulky and very expensive. They are bulky because the optics (size of the lenses) they need to be big to capture more light.
Great camera. Wish it didn't take so many sony proprietary cables.

Summary: Fantastic quality video. Very user friendly. Highly recommend getting a tripod when you get it. Use it for shooting sports and it does awesome. Wish it didn't take so many sony proprietary cables.
Small and light, great image quality, and great under low light conditions

Summary: Boy do I love this camcorder. The best features about it are its light size and weight, its image clarity, and its ability to handle low light situations so well. I was at first surprised when right out of the box appears this little camera that at first looked like a toy. This is what $400 buys? My previous camcorder used tape and was at least twice as big and probably 3 times heavier. So I thought this camera was a joke.
Summary: We loved it. its internal memory (16gb) comes to nearly 2 hours of the video (highest quality) and battery also comes to about 2 hours. I have been using this for about an year and I am fully satisfied with it.
